I am a self-proclaimed romantic, and I’m not ashamed to admit it. I love bearing witness to the beauty and joy that surrounds me when I have the honor of capturing those priceless moments. My style is one of simplicity and elegance delivered in a fresh photojournalistic approach.
At this point in my life, I’ve stopped keeping count of the number of years I’ve been a photographer, and instead mark the milestones based my beautiful daughters’ birthdays. I now choose my clients just as carefully as they choose me, because for me, it’s just as important that we connect on a personal level as it is that you think I take pretty pictures. It’s SO much more than that. It’s not about lining up the bridal party in a pleasing arrangement for the formals, it’s about capturing the feeling, the energy, the dynamic of your friends and family that are surrounding you on this special day. It’s about freezing this precious moment in time so that you, and maybe your children, and grandchildren can look back and FEEL your love.
Because my life is so blessed, and I truly feel the need to give something back to the world, I dedicate time to doing whatever I can to help those less fortunate. I’ve had the privilege of traveling extensively abroad to bring light to the ravages of both war and natural disasters. As well, I have done extensive documentary photography capturing the strong emotional images of our nation’s homeless and their struggles.
In order to keep on top of current trends and the latest technology, I am an active member of PPA (Professional Photographers of America), WPPI (Wedding Portrait Photographers International), and VPPA (Virginia Professional Photographers Association). You can find my work featured in both local and national as well as international publications.
